Position: SQA Under Linux/Unix Intern
Location: Easy to get-to in New York City
Status: Full Time Internship
The position –
THIS IS A UNIX-BASED SOFTWARE QUALITY ASSURANCE INTERNSHIP. As a Quality Assurance (QA) Intern you will learn about QA practices and how they fit within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) by working with members of the QA team on enterprise-level GridApp products. Interns will start out with small amount of responsibilities, such as, executing test cases that have been created by other QA analysts, and eventually lead into testing end-to-end products.
Product code base is Perl, C++, C, PHP, and JavaScript.
Responsibilities-
- Linux and/or Unix (Solaris, HP-UX, AIX) experience and/or knowledge.
- Possess strong diagnostic troubleshooting skills (you are also meticulous and detail-oriented- how many bugs have you found?)
- Ability to work well in both a team environment and as an individual contributor; can adapt to changing environments, deadlines and priorities.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related disciplines.
You will receive bonus points if you can offer –
- Experience in Perl and shell scripting.
- Knowledge of databases such as Oracle 10g, 11i, DB1, Sybase, and SQL Server.
- Experience and/or knowledge of bug tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla or ClearQuest.
Must be a team player with the ability to identify issues and be proactive in driving solutions.
